Exhibition Area

The Exhibition area of Saskatoon saw most of its development occur between the first and second world wars. It’s primarily a residential neighbourhood with roughly half of its homes being single-family detached house and the balance mainly low rise rental apartments and apartment style condominiums. The area is considered middle income and still offers some of the most affordable housing available on Saskatoon’s east side.

Located in central Saskatoon on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River, the area has little commercial development but its close proximity to downtown Saskatoon makes it a natural draw for residents. The area is also home to Prairieland Park, otherwise known as the exhibition grounds where Saskatoon holds its annual fair each summer and numerous trade shows throughout the course of the year. The Western Development Museum sits at the south end of the neighbourhood and a number of popular golf courses are just a short drive away.

The Exhibition area has two schools including St. Frances in the catholic system and a private Seventh Day Adventist Christian School. Public school students are bussed to another location courtesy of Saskatoon Public Schools.

The area has approximately seven acres of green space across four public parks. Available activities include baseball, basketball, volleyball, numerous playgrounds, tobogganing, walking, cross country skiing, outdoor skating and a spray pool.
